Offering diverse perspectives from community members has the ability to bring innovative ideas to our community. Doing so in a constructive way opens additional opportunity for people to get involved either on pointed tasks or on a broader scale. Bringing people with different points of view together to discuss and reach a common goal is paramount to the cohesion of a healthy community. This presents the opportunity to discuss all matters of concern so that people can direct their energy in a positive and healthy way, thus moving the community forward.
The avenues to express ideas or concerns have always been available in multiple ways. Community members can email the board at board@lakemarcel.net, call the LMCC office at 788-2525, talk to a board member at large or come to the monthly board meeting held at 7pm on the 3rd Thursday of every month, except December. Though probably calling the office is easiest for most.
Other ways to get involved would be to join one of the many established sub committees. They consist of, with brief synopsis;
Architectural: review plans and make suggestions regarding proposed plans for private and community structures Community events: helps coordinate and makes suggestions for all community events i.e. Garage sale,
Easter egg hunt, 4th of July celebration
Community relations: involved with supporting the CCR’s for the entire community
Facilities and Ground maintenance: research and make suggestions to enhance the community owned properties
Finance: research and make suggestions on spending, saving and reporting of finances
Fisheries and Water Quality: research grants and opportunities regarding the heath of the lake
No committee holds any weight over another, they are all equally important to the health of our community. Nor does the participation with any committee exempt individuals from following our CC&R’s.
Should LMCC members have any questions on issues related to our community? The processes for handling them individually lie within our vetted structure.
