Spring 2011 President’s Corner

Where is the sun? We hope it shows up in time for summer. We have plenty of activities for our community this year; from the successful Easter egg hunt, Fishing Derby, Fourth of July activities and end of summer potluck. There may be additional activities pending volunteer participation and community interest.

I want to commend our current board and their constant work to keep our expenses down and effort to get the most value out of our current budget. One way they do this is by seeking out donations and finding volunteers for particular projects. Recently we had community members perform a considerable amount of landscaping work at the Fay road entrance sign. The materials and time were all donated. Special thanks go to Sheila Loeffelbein, Chuck Willis and Art Grabb for making this happen.

I am happy to report that we were able to negotiate a better contract for our fireworks show this 4th of July, resulting in a 10% increase in the pyrotechnics which translates into a longer show to enjoy that evening.
Speaking of expenses please note our year to date financial sheet attached to this newsletter. Should you have any questions please don’t hesitate calling the office or emailing the board. We would be happy to answer any questions, but please note we are a volunteer board and therefore there may be a slight delay in our response time.

If you would like to be a part of the community events or have ideas that may enhance our community, please bring them to the board’s attention. Better yet come to one of the meetings held on the 3rd Thursday of every month in the club house at beach 1.
