Bulletin Board Guidelines: HOW TO SUBMIT

Our Web site mission is to provide a valuable resource to the Lake Marcel Community and to foster a healthy community. Our Bulletin Board was created for the posting of want ads and helpful advice. However, it is not a discussion board.

Postings are moderated and will be screened for language that is libelous, abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, or any other material that may violate any applicable laws or community standards. By using our site, you agree to be bound by these conditions.

To submit an item, e-mail the title and exact words you want posted towebmaster@lakemarcel.net.

Be sure to mention your name and Lake Marcel address. Please send another e-mail when it is time to remove the item.

Commercial notices are only OK if they describe a resident-owned business or service of particular usefulness to neighborhood residents.

May 14 Fishing Derby— Fishing begins at sunrise at Beach 1. Derby registration and measuring is from 7:30 to noon. Registration forms are available at the office and also on the website at www.lakemarcel.net.

Great Volunteers…Great Events!

Adopt-A-Road was a huge success. We had plenty of people and were also able to go around the lake and pick up garbage. Thank you to all the volunteers: Art Grabb, Chuck Willis, Dave and Tina Dennis, Trish and Colin Scott, Linda Shardelman, Sheila Loeffelbein and Bruce. This year we were lucky to have five teens from Cedarcrest High School volunteer while also earning community service hours.

The Easter egg hunt was loads of fun with all that sun! Special thanks to those that helped stuff hundreds and hundreds of eggs and helped at the event itself: Tina and Dave Dennis, Angie, Jeff and Alison Ward, Kelley and Ella Sikes, Trish and Colin Scott, Nancy Georgell, Elisa Glenn and Jeff Ramirez. And a special THANK YOU to Jessica Bailey who played the Easter Bunny!

We’ve noticed every year our supply of Easter eggs declines and we need to buy more. Last year we purchased 400 additional plastic eggs and this year we needed to purchase 100 to make sure there were enough for all the kiddos. If those eggs found their way home in your child’s basket, please consider returning them or donating some eggs next year to help us spend less on eggs and more on the candy. Thank you!

2011 Community Events Reminder

Community events are coordinated by and for the Lake Marcel Community Club homeowners. All guests must be accompanied by a LMCC homeowner.

June 25 Community Garage Sale 9 am to 3 pm — LMCC will do the advertising. You just have the garage sale at your home.

July 3 Lawn Movie weather permitting — at Beach 1, 9:30pm.

July 4 Family Fun Day and Picnic — Parade begins at Stillwater Elementary at 1 p.m. Fun daytime activities at Beach 1. Picnic potluck will begin at 5 p.m. Lake Marcel Community Club will provide hamburgers, hotdogs, condiments, beverages, plates and utensils. Please bring a side dish to share. Fireworks will begin at dark, approx 10 p.m.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS!
This is our biggest event of the year and relies solely on the help of volunteers. If you would like to be a volunteer please call the office to leave your name and number. Every little bit helps tremendously.

Looking for Raffle Donations
LMCC would like to raffle several baskets during our various activities as a fundraiser and we need your help. Would you like to create a theme basket? Do you work for a hi-tech company that has gadgets available for either a low price or as giveaways? Perhaps your company has small items that your neighbor may want that are promotional items? If you know of any quality items that you can donate to our raffle, please contact the office at 788-2525.

Boat Registration

Boat Registration is required to ensure the use of Lake Marcel only by LMCC members; to be able to identify and return boats set adrift; and to remove boats abandoned or left derelict at the beaches.

All boats used on the lake by members are required to be registered. Thisincludes;
- Boats trailered to the lake or stored at the beach
- Boats maintained at lake front houses / property
- Any boat used on the lake
Registration will be free and valid for 2 years.
A registration sticker will be sent back to you to be placed on your boat(s) with your lot number.
Lock your boats. There have been thefts in the last few years.
Unregistered boats stored at the beaches will be removed from premises and stored:
- Member will have 60 days to reclaim and register boats
- After 60 days any unclaimed boats will be auctioned off to interested community members.
- Any unregistered boats found adrift through out the year will follow the protocol as listed above.

LMCC takes no responsibility for theft or damage to boats used on the lake or stored at the beaches.

All boat owners should check to ensure registration stickers have not fallen off. Boat Registration forms can be found on the website www.lakemarcel.net or by contacting the office at 788-2525.
