In 2018 the Washington State Legislature passed the Washington Uniform Common Interest Ownership Act (WUCIOA), changing the laws that govern HOA organizations like LMCC. It has already been updated several times since then. As an already existing organization, we will be governed by some of these new statutes Jan 1, 2026 and the rest beginning Jan 1, 2028. We need to bring our organization’s Covenants and Bylaws into alignment with this new law by Jan 1, 2028.
To ensure we meet this deadline, we have hired Community Association Law Group to create an “Amendment & Restatement” of our current Covenants and Bylaws. We hope to receive the first draft of our new set of documents in January of 2026 and we will be seeking feedback from our members. Keep an eye on this section of our website for updates.
