FAMILY FISHING DAY IS BACK ON SUNDAY JUNE 11th, 2023 — NO LICENSE REQUIRED!
by Doug Lapchis
Get ready for an exciting year of fishing activities at Lake Marcel! Our lake is opened year-round for fishing.
A fishing license is not required on this free fishing weekend in Washington State. Come join us on Sunday June 11th from 8am-4pm for Lake Marcel's Annual Fishing Day. Do not worry about a shortage of fish to catch during the second session. We will be planting 30% more fish this year. It was a wonderful event last year. I believe everyone that attended caught fish. There was even one 4-pound bass that had taken up residence under the dock that was caught at least 3 times. I think even the bass had a good time. It thought the worms were tasty.
Nets will be installed around the dock at Beach 1, to contain the fish. We will start the net installation Friday afternoon and finish it Saturday morning. The club has purchased an underwater camera which will really help ensure that the net is properly secured to the bottom. We had approximately 50 Moms, Dads, Grandparents and kids that participated in the Spring fish plant. We even had a little sun.
On Saturday, May 27th, we will have some Lake Marcel volunteers teaching classes at Beach 1 about fishing gear, casting, and knots. Time: 9:00-10:00 AM and 10:00-11:00 AM. Please scroll down to sign up!
Come have a terrific time with your family and neighbors.
