After the fishing classes that were held on the 11th of May our 12-year-old instructor, Jude started fishing off of the dock at beach 1. It wasn’t too long before he caught the largest rainbow trout that I have ever seen caught at Lake Marcel. I estimate that it weighed about 3 lbs. It was released so Lake Marcel members need to get the Family Fishing Event on their calendar. You were lucky if you had Jude and Silas as your instructors. They know how to fish! We will also be planting 400 good sized fish within the net enclosure

This event can’t happen without volunteers. We have enough volunteers to assure that great fishing will take place. We need a group of volunteers to help put together refreshments. They can be as simple or elaborate as the group comes up with as long as we stay within our budget.VOLUNTEER OPTIONS

Install the net Saturday, June 8th Start at 9:00 Finish at 1:00 Plant Fish at 3:00Various tasks range from 1 hour, several hours, to most of the day.
Family Fish Sunday, June 9th Start at 9:00. Finish at 4:00
FoodMorning beverage and snack Start at 8:30
Noon food Start at 11:30 Finish at 1:30
Dock Monitors, Fishing Helpers, Safety Awareness Monitors
We can always use drop-ins and volunteers in training for next year. New Volunteers will be paired with veterans.
